This is a past event. Participants thought Serena was nurturing and supportive, and were impressed with the studio & its supplies. This is the first event where participants couldn't think of anything to improve upon!

Layers of Memory & Imagination
facilitated by Serena Barton
Sunday, March 25, 2007
10 a.m.-4 p.m.
$70, which includes all materials
7 max, so RSVP quickly!

Collage is a particularly flexible, forgiving & insightful medium. If you're ready to learn more about the art of collage, this exciting & productive workshop is the perfect opportunity! Bring several copies of two images that you love, such as a reproduction of a vintage family portrait or a face from an old master painting. A variety of materials will be available to add to your images. You'll learn collage techniques on canvas, how to choose images that express your unique vision, and how to work from your heart. You'll leave with two or more magical collage creations.

About your guide: Serena Barton blends her long career as a counselor with her passion for art. She taught herself to paint and create mixed media work in her forties, earning her the right to insist that it is never too late to delve into what inspires us. One of Serena's great joys is to provide an atmosphere where you can discover or rekindle your own creative abilities.

About the studio: Scarlet Star Studios offers a wide variety of opportunities for art exploration, with instructors who will encourage you to create fearlessly & truthfully in a familiar, safe and inspiring studio environment.

For more details or to register for "Layers of Memory & Imagination," please contact us! And please feel free to forward this opportunity along to someone who is ready to learn more about the art & soul of collage.
