Scarlet Star Studios is a retreat for art exploration and creative self-expression. Our
offerings are for anyone who wants to be more creative! Our goal is to restore hope
& faith in your own abilities, to encourage you to create fearlessly and truthfully.
Based in Portland, Oregon, the studio was founded by Gretchin Lair & Sven Bonnichsen, creative partners since 2003. We are creative advocates who like to encourage people to make art! (more about us.) In addition to our own events, we have hosted other workshops & activities -- and your events, too! Whether it's an art party, class, celebration or a creative retreat, contact us if you'd like to arrange for your special event in our space. Scarlet Star Studios offers a clean & open space that holds 8-10 inspired writers & artists, features diverse & unusual art materials, and includes a fully-equipped kitchen & bathroom. We're directly below the Powell Butte Nature Park and not far from the Springwater Corridor Trail. We are near Raymond & SE 140th, which is reachable via the #17 Holgate bus.
