More Beautiful Truth: Creating Art Journals & Altered Books
facilitated by Melanie Sage
Saturday, March 08, 2008
1 p.m.-5 p.m.
$50, which includes most materials (just bring your own journal)
7 max, so RSVP quickly!"The truth isn't always easy, but it is always beautiful."
Art journaling combines words and images in a way that tells a story: often the story isn't premeditated, but unfolds in front of you unexpectedly. In this workshop, you will experiment with a variety of artistic methods & mediums that lend themselves to visual journaling. You will also explore ways to free your words and practice visual journaling techniques. Melanie will share her own art journals and discuss their use to help in your personal goal-setting, brainstorming, and reflecting on past experiences. Our focus is on process-oriented work, so ALL skill levels are welcome! Participants should bring a journal with pages that are tolerant of water and paint, but all other supplies (and a 20-page handout!) will be provided. See the original Beautiful Truth workshop for fantastic feedback & pix.
